It's a dive bar in the middle of nowhere, but let me tell you, the food was great. I had mini taco appetizer, a blt and a cup of cream of mushroom soup. I was absolutely blown away by the soup and the blt was fantastic. The appetizer was like most wisconsin mini tacos, but came out hot and fresh.
I stopped in to meet my cousin, from out of town, doing work in the area, but drove to from Madison to see her. I certainly would go again if I am near this place in the future.

First time here - love the fish!
We were staying in the area for a few days with family and we wanted to go out for a Friday Night Fish Fry. Our cousin knew of the Blue Goose and assumed they had fish. He was right.
As we walked in (around 4:30 pm on the 4th of July), it was loud. This was due to a large group standing about, about to leave. Once they were gone and we were seated at a low 4-top table in a corner by the arcade games, the noise level was great.
A server was by within a few minutes of us sitting down. We’ looked over the menu already, so we placed our drink and dinner order with her. She was very pleasant.
We ordered:
- Fried Cod with Fries and Coleslaw
- Fried Walleye with Fries and Coleslaw
- Fried Catfish Tacos with Potato Pancakes and Apple Sauce
- We had beers too: Summer Shandy x 2 and Spotted Cow
The beer was cold and refreshing. The food came maybe 10 minutes later. I had the 2-pc Fried Walleye and it was fabulous! Two large filets, lightly breaded and fried to perfection. And so tasty. Our cousin had the Cod and enjoyed it as well. My wife had the Fried Walleye Tacos and enjoyed them too. As this was her first time here, she didn’t know the tacos would come completely dressed with the coleslaw on the tacos already or she would have ordered the coleslaw on the side. Her potato pancakes were very good. And while the rustic, hand-cut fries were good, I liked the potato pancakes more and will get them next time.
My wife and I each took half our meals home and will enjoy them for lunch tomorrow.
We had a few questions about the area and asked random staff who passed by and they always knew the answers. Can’t say enough for how friendly the team here was today.
We can recommend the Blue Goose for drinks and food - especially the Fried Walleye! I hope we make it back here on our next visit to the area.

If you are looking for a spectacular dining experience, come get loose with the goose. The homemade buttermilk ranch is to die for. The cheese curds are 100/100.

First time here and we will definitely be back! We had the walleye and cod fish fry dinners and they were absolutely delicious and the fish was cooked perfectly too. The fresh cut fries, homemade coleslaw and homemade cheese curds were SO GOOD! Great service and great atmosphere!

Best bartenders, Best food that I have experienced in the 10 years I have lived in Twin Lakes House. everything homemade, and the best place to meet up with friends and family!! I have to say that karaoke Sundays have been my favorite with this bar and they are definitely doing something right for the Village Twin Lakes!! Definitely impressed with this establishment!!!

We found this hidden gem while out riding. From the greeting upon entering and the food suggestions. This has been the best place we have eaten since being up north. The Cubano and the Greek grilled cheese were on point. Oh and a must is the cheese curds. Staff were super friendly and the atmosphere was great as well. This will be a frequent stop from now on.

Picked the Blue Goose for Friday fish fry based on good reviews. It was great. Wasn’t necessarily planning on an evening of all fried food, and the whole menu actually sounds pretty awesome. Cheese curds are light and airy. Fried mushrooms tasted like classics. Both cod and walleye are available for fish fry and they’re hand battered in house. We didn’t have a preference - both were good. Same with potato pancakes vs fries, everyone liked them both. Reasonable prices and friendly service. Patio is the move on a warmer day as indoors does not seem to be air conditioned , or maybe it’s just that the kitchen is giving off too much heat. Quiet and breezy, we enjoyed relaxing outside on a Friday night.

Mines on yelp too!
The Goose has yet to disappoint. I had the Philly Cheese Steak and I will definitely be ordering it again! I’ve had just about everything on the menu all with 5 stars and this sandwich is right up there with the rest. Not to mention the service. Everyone is always smiling and greet you the minute you’re walking through the door. No matter how busy, our bartender Krystin, makes you feel like you feel like you’re the only customer she has! Great atmosphere and great drinks as well. Highly recommend!

What a fun place! I had a great conversation with the very, very nice owner Amanda. I noticed the entire staff was always smiling at each other...and it creates such a fun atmosphere for the patrons. She said they are all friends with each and spend time together even when they aren't working. The food is also excellent and reasonably priced. I had the walleye and my wife the quesadilla. Katie was our server and always had us in the corner of her eye to respond to anything needed. Sienna was a charming young lady that was handling the seating and made sure we werent forgotten in the crowded place. This is a hidden gem!
